The Division of Hearing and Appeals consists of these units and boards:
The Division's corrections unit handles adult probation, parole, extended supervision, and juvenile aftercare supervision cases from the Department of Corrections.
The Division's general government unit conducts quasi-judicial hearings for several state agencies. Among these are contested case hearings involving nursing home regulation, hearings for the Department of Natural Resources, and the Department of Transportation. The Division also oversees this board which directs negotiation, mediation, arbitration mandated for siting all solid and hazardous waste facilities in Wisconsin.
The Public Assistance and Social Services Unit (formerly known as Work and Family Services) handles a wide variety of hearings.
