The Division of Hearing and Appeals consists of these units and boards:
The Division's corrections unit handles adult probation, parole, extended supervision, and juvenile aftercare supervision cases from the Department of Corrections.
The Division's general government unit conducts quasi-judicial hearings for several state agencies. Among these are contested case hearings involving nursing home regulation, hearings for the Department of Natural Resources, and the Department of Transportation. The Office of Worker's Compensation Hearings conducts hearings for the DWD Worker's Compensation Division. These are hearings under Wis. Stat. Ch. 102 to resolve disputed work-related injury claims between injured workers and their employers.
The Division also oversees this board which directs negotiation, mediation, arbitration mandated for siting all solid and hazardous waste facilities in Wisconsin.
