Wisconsin movie theaters have not been spared the financial
strain felt by movie theater companies nationally as content has been limited
and activity limited across the state.
Governor Tony Evers has
designated $10,000,000 from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic
Security (CARES) Act to movie theater operators whose facilities have been negatively affected
by COVID-19. Administered
through the Department of Administration (DOA), the COVID-19 Movie Theater Grant Program
will provide awards on average of approximately $13,000 per eligible movie theater screen in Wisconsin.
