Population Estimates

​The Demographic Services Center annually produces population estimates for Wisconsin counties and municipalities.  The estimates are based on the prior census and analysis of contemporary data including housing units, dormitory and institutional populations, automobile registrations, residential electric meters and other indicators of population change. DSC releases preliminary population estimates on August 10, and final population estimates on October 10, with a reference date of January 1 of the current year.
