Population Estimates

The Demographic Services Center annually produces population estimates for Wisconsin counties and municipalities.  The estimates are based on the prior census and analysis of contemporary data including housing units, dormitory and institutional populations, automobile registrations, and other indicators of population change. DSC releases preliminary population estimates by August 10, and final population estimates by October 10, with a reference date of January 1 of the current year.
