The Division of Housing, within the Department of Administration, offers a broad range of financial and technical assistance to improve and expand housing, increase affordable housing opportunities and provide services to people without housing. The variety of federal and state programs it manages benefits persons with disabilities, low and moderate income residents and homeless populations. The Division partners with local governments, homeless service providers, developers and housing organizations throughout the state to improve housing conditions for low to moderate income Wisconsin residents. It distributes over $30 million annually.

FAIR HOUSING
It's illegal to discriminate against people in housing based on race, color, sex, national origin, religion, disability, or family status according to both state and federal law. In Wisconsin it is also illegal to discriminate based on ancestry, marital status, age, sexual orientation, or lawful source of income for housing. Some local fair housing laws include additional areas of discrimination.
