State of Wisconsin - Local Government Investment Pool (LGIP)
Effective July 1, 2011, the biennial budget, 2011 Wisconsin Act 32 transferred the responsibility for administering the Local Government Investment Pool (LGIP) from the Wisconsin State Treasurer's Office to the Wisconsin Department of Administration. As a result, LGIP support staff are now located within the Department of Administration - State Controller's Office.
We wish to thank State Treasurer Schuller and Deputy State Treasurer Feldt for the quality services they have provided to local government investors. And, we look forward to partnering with local governments and the State of Wisconsin Investment Board to maximize future investment returns, and to provide the highest quality services available.
- The Wisconsin State Controller's Office
The Local Government Investment Pool (LGIP) provides a secure investment option for all Wisconsin local governments, including counties, cities, villages, towns, school districts and other entities. By pooling local government funds with State funds, local governments may be able to realize generally higher yields over time. The LGIP provides local governments with the best of both worlds - overnight availability and improved earnings.
The LGIP funds are invested by the State of Wisconsin Investment Board. The daily LGIP operations are managed by the Wisconsin Department of Administration - State Controller's Office.
