The Division of Capitol Police is comprised of seven work units - Investigative Court Services, Dignitary Services, Police & Security, a K-9 Unit, the State Safety Office and a Communication Unit.

The State Capitol Police Department (CPD) is responsible for providing Police and Security services to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, legislators, Supreme Court, visiting dignitaries, state facilities and citizens of the State of Wisconsin.  The Wisconsin State Capitol Police has statewide jurisdiction and investigates criminal, domestic and traffic related incidents throughout the State of Wisconsin.
